(Saturday) 8.30am early morning rigg !
This was a bit scary because it was a gusty s.s.west wind 23-24mph with the tide coming in fast ! myself and Tony Hughes were the only two in the 'Condor class' so we tossed a coin for who goes first ! I won.. Tony goes first
After about ten minutes I suddenly realised I made a mistake asking Tony to go first ! he was taking his time and I was losing my landing area fast
comp organisers quickly got things going and all was looking OK
Tony's T/O was good but his landing was poor, we had to land a bit crossed wind and he got flipped when he decided to land on his feet instead of using the wheels on the base for extra distance ! 55.4m
I had a good T/O and my new glider adverse yaws beautifully and I used this to get back into wind for a good low glide landing on the small base bar wheels. 69.6m well pleased
(Sunday) 8.00am early morning rigg !!!
No wind and heavy showers all over the place we decided to come back in the evening 7.00pm
I was taking part in the 'Kingfisher class' as the Geordie Icarus at 2.00pm (tide in) great fun to do and it broke -up the long day ahead in the very hot sun.
The tide was soon going out fast and it was time to rigg, Tony was a bit wound up because the light wind had gone round to the S.East and he needs more wind for the T/O its now a different ball game landing on the beach ! it has to be right.. Tony decided not to fly and shook my hand for the win !
Taiwan birdman here I come
