Can anyone tell me if the coast is looking good for the weekend please?
I've been looking on XC Weather and although everywhere inland is W/NW the coast is looking like NE with 10-15 (if I'm reading it right.... :???: ) or is the wind inland pushing against what's coming in from the sea likely to cancel out any chance of flying??

Would be nice to get a bit of coastal soaring in to get me back in the game after too long of an absence...

Hi Ianb. Your assesment of the weather is not far off. However I thing it may be light at the coast. I would look at saltburn by the sea perhaps heading to Cringle being my preferred option.....

Saturday could be good in either the dales or Clough.
North easterly or northerly on the coast here.
Parties all weekend, Julie's retirement and Phil's 30th Birthday, so may have to clip the wings and go kitesurfing, haven't looked at Sunday yet.
There will probably be a strong convergance line, so if you're around that area, it will be nice and lively.
See you out there!!!!!

Hmm XC Weather seems in conflict with the synoptics. I can't see where they're getting their SW - West drift more north ish. Whatever it's going to light winds.

I can see a large gathering sitting on east hill both days waiting for the sea breeze. :lek:

I know theres a bit of banter going on here but am I right in understanding that if you have a light northerly on the east coast and the sea breeze kicks in that there would be chance for a sea breeze convergence or am i understanding convergence wrong.
If Acro was easy they'd call it Cross Country
