Cross Fell

Post by John Wallis »

Quite a few cars at Cross Fell yesterday so just a friendly reminder about parking. We don't have permission to leave cars anywhere on the track and I know it's not easy sometimes as the 2 wheel drives can only get so far then get stuck. I'm guilty of this myself! John Watson pointed it out yesterday and it's fair comment. So it's either park right at Kirkland (Not good long walk) at the bottom of the hill where you can pull off the track and leave access, or on the top of the hill parked back out of sight.

Plus remember when driving through Kirkland drive DEAD SLOW there's kids playing that just shoot out of their driveways as they are not used to much traffic.

And we have Mr Howe (Doesn't like us for some reason?) who has the holiday cottages just before the fell track starts.

Well said John, you saved me saying it, I think the least we give the farmer's/walker's a chance to say anything the better, especially with Foot and Mouth lurking.
