Brian winged about going to Hownam but my convincing jabber coaxed him, we arrived with a light WNW and the Sutherland ridge was just flyable, I was convinced it was going to veer NNW just as Metcheck said, it did and we were rewarded with some spectacular flying, the NNW ridge is really awesome and we put it to good use.
Brian was given the privilege of being the first ever to fly it, and we tested the air, finding that there was no problem with turbulence coming off Grubbit law and the adjacent hills. We top landed a few times (again no problem) and took off over the wall which stretches along the crest of the ridge, clearing it with ease.
All in all we had a smashing day and it just goes to prove that determination pays off, we tested a new site and came home happy men, we even went apple raiding later.
Just waiting for another thumbs up now.
