A Cracking days flying!

Post by AlastairW »

Whilst most of you were lying in your beds, enjoying your extra hard earned hours kip, John Wallis and myself decided that today was the day for the big cross country flight......

And as it turned out we were right, despite initial reservations about the weather......

We got to base just north of Talkin Tarn, and then tracked East, passing just North of Hexham, and onto the mast at Stamfordham.

Unfortunatley I didnt have my GPS with me, so I cant post the flight log, but John assures me he has taken pictures... I was a bit busy to take any....

Viz was brilliant..... at base over Hexham you could see all the way to the coast!

A cracking days flying!

It was obviously going to be a good day and the sky looked brilliant. It was however passing very quickly!
I think even the new breed of dinosaurs were kept in their cages today.

Aye Steve Elkin's got nowt on the 2 Ws The into wind leg was 65 miles.......Return leg was a doddle at 116 knots ground speed (sun)

The weather in the lakes was awesome with some excellent cloud streets. A tadge windy for the duvets but the bedsteads might have got way with it.
