well after making my mind up to go safe i managed to sell my ibex to a lad in australia. all was well got the secratary to book dhl to post it on a 1-6 day tracker. cost £75 pounds but thought worth it for piece of mind. i put it's declared value of 900 pounds to save hime import tax never thinking they would loose it. only 6 days later they've lost it. i thought not a problem dhl will have to pay for a new one or at least 900 pounds. not the case though it appears that somewhere on the booking there is a tick for insurance and it had not been ticked so now i have not just lost 700 pounds iv'e lost 1600 pounds so to say the least i am feeling very pissed off not to mention broke.
moral of the story is always make sure that you are well insured to post things
always be sure your insured if posting your glider

To right, balls with insurance, does this just meen they can take payment for delivering goods, loose it and tell you tuff, go shite? !!
I think not. The insurance is a last resort, they have to take some responsibility for peoples goods.
I would not let that one lie

Account with DHL
Gary
I have an account with DHL and an account manager who may be able to help if you can scan and send me the paperwork.
Worth a try.

Business Plan
How to increase your profit as a courier company.
1 - take bookings for cash - especially to long distance countries and reasonably valuable items.
2 - take parcel and place under counter and wait. After 6 days claim it is lost - after all Australia is a long way away.
3 - sell on ebay - cash in pocket (do not use DHL to send it out).
4 - offer condolences to poor sucker customer - taking care to point out small tick box about insurance.
This is not how it works but the regularity that things get damaged or lost you would think that it does.
