Moneylaws Sunday 11th

Post by John Wallis »

I've rang Mrs Anett tonight and left a message to say we'd like to fly tomorrow. If anyone rings before me tomorrow please make sure to post on here so we don't give her too many calls.

With the front heading south I thought heading north might be best?? Plus it's still windy the further south you go.

Maybe a mini comp for the hang gliders ??

I've rang Mrs Annet again this morning and left another message to ask to fly her hill. I've also mentioned by the fact that her phone is off she may be away on business so my message said we would be going up to fly Moneylaws and if she gets my messages and there is a problem for her to ring me and I'll pass it on to others.

So if anyone is thinking of Moneylaws and they want to be sure ring me and I'll pass on any message from Mrs Annet.

Cant do much more than that really

Permission granted she's just rang me back. We can't fly until after 12.00 though. She also mentioned that there wasn't much wind up there.

There's a healthy 12-15mph NNW 12miles north of Monylaws 0930

Well good turn out of the die hards today but the wind never dropped to a safe level even for the hang gliders. I've no doubt you could have got off but it would have been unpleasant. Some good banter followed by a meal in the Powburn cafe gave a small fix of the non flying type.

Moneylaws in high winds...

Post by ron freeman »

Moneylaws is generally 'ok' in high winds I've flown it many times with the Aeros Target 16-2m (big one) in wind strengths of 25-30mph and had some very nice flying.

The site has huge acceleration at take off...once airborn you suddenly find its not that bad out in front.
Maximise your time & dosh do both Hanggliding & Paragliding :)
