Flying towards dementia

Post by MadDog »

The Bin men Come around every Monday , could be the chance to get rid of some of the surplus flying gear I’ve got lying about….Like one, no make that two Laminar topless’s, one Airwave sport 3….and matching handbags.
I’ve forgotten what to do with them.
Somebody said you’re supposed to strap them to your back and jump off high ground with them when the weather is right…The first part seems easy….just can’t seem to get the last bit right though.
I keep looking at the clock….Will I ever fly again before they come to take me away to the old people’s home down the road?....before they drag me away fully clipped into that Gin Ginga 2 harness which I’ve forgotten how to get into, and out of…..and excuse me Mr Miller, but what are you doing getting into bed with that Competino strapped to your pyjama’s?...
They say history repeats itself….and this is how it started for Ron Donaldson…..!
Do you think that we will ever be able to run the club hang gliding competition this year? Or will it be a re-run of last year….every body champing at the bit, waiting for the starting flag….but back came the reply…
The computer says NO!
I hope I’m wrong in all that I’m saying, and I hope that this is not another empty summer…..
Euthanasia …..the bringing about of a gentle and easy death for a person suffering from a painful incurable disease…..
Sounds good to me….Look at the froth on that elixir….Bring it on!

If it makes you feel better John there's a few more as sick as chips at the moment, when will the summer ever start for real? Bob and Woody sat it out for 2 days hoping for some flight. Brian and Gary went to Tittlington Pike (a low site) and it was blowing high twenties there. I went out to Roman Wall country looking for new northerlies and got soaked in a down pour. Some good news though, I'm meeting Rob Elliott tonight as he has re vamped the scoring system we used to use for all our competitions and he's spent some time doing it. No doubt there will be some bugs to iron out but it will make our comps scoring fair if we run speed or goal flights as well as open XC. Rob is the man.

The team still turns out
But no longer has a pitch
The weather man has sold it
For a dance with the witch
