What a difference a week makes!

Post by gary stenhouse »

What a difference a week makes! Well after 3 flights on the RS4 a week ago I was unsure to whether it was too much for me. I felt more like I had been run over by a bus than been flying a hanglider for 2 hours. Then you have a week off and analyse why you were having to high side so much, and why you were diving in turns. Then you have another flick through the manual, when thermaling or in turbulance then fly full vg off (that is unless our an expert). And what a difference this was, instead of flying with a third on all the time. When gliding though with 2 thirds it is amazing and quite easy to keep it nice and straight at about 70km, but it’s the bar pressure that is so light.

I still have a long way to go but the advise to fly the discus first was absolutely the right advise. So today it was a absolute pleasure to fly and after 2 hours in the air and a good take off and landing I am very pleased with the wing.

Cheers Gary

Can you please explain to us paragliders what you mean by the above as we haven't got a clue what you are on about. And why were you diving in turns please explain. All we have to do is pull 2 bits of string and if it get too windy press on the string that's on the trapeze by your feet.

Please explain nonker from Ovingham.....
