The Ten Pound Bet Circa 1985
During an Airwave final in the Peak District Miller bet me £10.00 that he would beat me on the day so I took the bet. The winds on the day were very light I took off first and ended up scratching with a lot of other hang glider pilots. As I passed Miller below take off the words were shouted "Wallis you are an arsehole and you are down" This was all I needed and those words cost Mad Dog £10.00. I hooked a low save and managed to get to Chatsworth house about 12 Miles away? I remember it took ages. I've just been given this old video tape today from Gordon Proudlock and videoed the TV Screen. The quality and sound aren't great but it was a very funny moment many years ago.
Hey Miller, you've been rumbled now, you can carry your glider, last time I'm running up Blease twice to carry your kit.
Where were you hiding your hump or was that your stunt double?
Wallis,,,,
