Pre meeting coaching

Post by colin keightley »

Is there anyone willing to do some pre-meeting coaching as im desperate to do my pilot exam but ive forgotten most of what i have learnt especially regarding xc planning and such. Please help.

Who ever does it i think the club should pay for a meal for them at the corner house.
If Acro was easy they'd call it Cross Country

Not bothered about the meal Colin, but I'm more than willing to do some sessions if people are interested. It does seem to be more of a winter idea though. However, if people show an interest I'll do it whenever there's a demand.
Ideas welcome for topics, or choose from the list in order of preference.
First aid
weather, on site inerpretation, forecast interpretation
navigation
thermalling
site choice, obviously linked with weather
flying in groups or crowds

Doesn't seem like too much interest Colin, that's why I packed in the first time.

hanggliding..

Post by ron freeman »

Never give up ! I could stop teaching hanggliding and make a living teaching paragliding no problem even though its much more labour intensive I love the sport to much to give it up.

The pilot rating system will only work if clubs continue to encourage members to use it, exam work shops do work but if someone really wants their ratings nothing should stopped them doing so.. its up to the individual to study each subject and go for it. knowledge is power and in the flying world you can't be without it.. 8)

Plus you are supporting the BHPA & the more pilot ratings there are the CAA will continue to be impressed and will give our sport more pulling power.

Happy studies.

pilot exam

Post by chrisfozz »

Hi Colin,
I have some pilot exam notes and some mock exams that were set by Ian Miskin a few years ago. I found these very helpful when doing the pilot exam, some of them are too big to post here so pm me your email if you want me to send them on.
