After fighting through the traffic (where did it all come from)and leaving my poor little car down a dimly lit side street half on the pavement, (luckily still there and in one piece at the end of the evening) a brisk walk down the hill found us at the evening venue.
A fantastic evening, very relaxed, great company, AND we got a glimpse of the dog with a smile!!!!!! as his birthday cake was brought in at the end of the evening. Thanks to Julie (John Wallis's wife) for a lovely cake and a great Mad Dog for the top and to Kay for the brilliant card to make the treat complete.
Really nice to meet the partners of all the pilots, the ones who stay behind and worry about us, all, lovely people.
Brilliant night, thanks again to all for organising and to all that were there and made it such a good night.
That's it for me, Christmas is officially here, time to celebrate!
Poor Julie, (my wife) had to suffer the walk back up the hill at my usual pace, ooops! we had to stop at the top for her to gasp for breath, other than that, she had a great evening too and sends her thanks to everyone for making her feel welcome.
And then,,,,there was the traffic!!!! I went home via the Western bypass to avoid the grid lock in the town.
Hope everyone got home safely and had as good an evening as we did.
