I bought an Alinco DJ-V17E
On other websites this costs around £140 for the unit but at this shop it was only £99 with converter cable and speaker mic.
It is a water resistant IPX7 which means it can be submursed in 1meter of water for up to 30min
Ok its not as small as the yaseu's but its loads more cheaper and still fairly small.
The arial is very flexible and all the fittings are screw in waterproof which is why you need the converter to change the single pin screw in jack to a conventional one. But with the package these guys sell it comes with it.
Excellent build quality and the functions once set up are very easy to use.
Havnt used it in the field yet so couldnt comment on battery life or transmition quality but havnt read any bad reviews the only thing that people have complained about is the fitted speaker sounds slightly muffled because of the waterproof membrane covering it.
As for our frequency and widebanding, the unit i bought was supposed to ship as 144 - 146 but when i received mine it was wide banded to 130 - 174 when you place an order it asks you your intended purpose so i put down paragliding maybe thats why.
Anyhow wide banding on this radio is the easiest ive seen under the battery there is a little square plate unscrew it and there is a blue wire in a loop cut it and your wide banded.
Anyhow just thought this was terific value for a water-resistant radio
